Jeez, that jupiter model looks amazing. I'm beginning to worry that my rig isn't going to be able to run the next release very smoothly.

Regardless, thanks everyone involved in the Space Engine. I love and look forward to every release. I really appreciate your hard work.

The animations look really nice - easy to work into the model with low overhead too. I was instantly reminded of this aerobreaking scene an old movie. smile

It have 10 clouds layers, moving with different speed. A speed is computed from actual observational data. On these animations, clouds speed is artifically increased by 100,000 times. Without cheat codes, to see such clouds movement, you must accelerate the time in 100,000x and synchronise rotation with Jupiter.

Very nice job you're dedicating a lot of time adding features and resolving bugs, i think everyone is grateful here,
you are one of the few that actually listens to the community and trying to make the software even better !

The hardware requirements of 0.97 are no greater than for previous versions, and if anything it should run more smoothly smile

Will that epic cloud animation system apply to all gas giants, or just Jupiter?

Careful. The PLATT Collective has spurs.

it's not really animation, it's just multiple cloud layers moving at different speeds. It probably will be on all gas giants.

Jupiter is Awesome!

No, it's just for Jupiter. I imagine that it's possible for a similar system to be devised for procedural worlds, but don't expect to see something like that very soon.

I'd say of all the things in the universe that are impossibly unlikely, this is #1 tongue

i just noticed the big spot area is completely inert (stand still w/o any internal motion/rotation) ...
will be there some whirls / movement inside such ones ?
