Aerospacefag, I know Lenin is an important figure in world history, and I am not mocking him, I have respect for him. I was just making a funny image. I was not making a statement with that image. Nor do I associate KFC with racism. My image was not racist, not anti-Russian, not anti-Bolshevik, not anti-Lenin, not anti-anything. It's just a picture. And that's it. I literally meant nothing by it. I usually don't make pictures to mock things I hate, I make pictures depicting things I love, or make pictures with no meaning at all.

You need to lighten up a little bit. Or, if you still think that you are justified in being upset, you can make your own image using George Washington or something. I doubt that I or anyone here would be offended.

Guys, it's great that you've all got cool stuff to share, but let's keep everything similar in its correct thread. We have an astrophotography thread and astrophotos should go there so we don't clutter up this thread with stuff that can go elsewhere.

Nova, edit your post to cut everything except the painting; paste what you cut into a new post on the astrophotography thread. Antza, I'm moving yours over there too.

This is all I can do so far. Any opinions?

EDIT: It's meant to be weird and sketchy, that was how I was trying to make it look.

I just tried to make a small movie out of all night exposures of every night between 20th March until today. The result:

Can you tell me how to do an all night exposure without overexposing the picture?

Take an all night timelapse and combine the images into a single image rather than a video.

Videofilming through the night, then go through every pixel in every frame picking the brightest one.

Set an appropriate exposure for the individual frames to avoid overexposure. In my case it's 1/3 s.

The drawback is that this method will collect all sensor noise there is. One pixel of noise in 100,000 frames and you'll see it. I'm sure the situation can be improved using simple filters, though.

EDIT: I once tried to expose for several hours during the day by using a 1/10,000 grey filter. Just for fun. It turned out that the filter wasn't perfectly grey, and that the camera wasn't perfectly sealed. Here's the result (shot taken in 1998):

Do you mean filming a video or creating a timelapse? Also i have no idea how to do that latter part.

Either. Timelapse is just a video with low frame rate and long exposures. The point is that you're exposing continuously, but not just for one frame.
