| Would this be the place to post my own music, or would that be better placed in the more general "show off your work" thread?

| Quote (NovaSilisko) Would this be the place to post my own music, or would that be better placed in the more general "show off your work" thread? It should be posted in the other thread. Unless you ever want to post music that you've made for SpaceEngine, in which case there is a thread for that somewhere too

| The most wonderful thing I've seen all week - Jonathan Coulton and Felicia Day singing "Still Alive" at PAX '08
And for you Felicia fans out there you can see her better in this version.
Worthy of a tear, this is

| Antza2, woow, those two girls are very good
If you like metal music i higly suggest you to listen Sybreed, here some of my favourite songs:
Eternity is soo relaxing (i listened it while using se), you could like it even if you are not into metal music
Neurodrive have some scream parts, but they fit perfectly with shi-fi atmosphere
This don't have the same space atmosphere of the others but it's epic anyway
The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

(still don't know why everyone is doing this...)

| Proof (as if we needed more) that popular music is all the same and is not advancing as an art form

Popular music is a good example of directed memetic evolution where fitness is measured by how much money it moves from wallets to corporate bank accounts. It's a cash crop, and the farmers permit only enough mutation (artistic novelty) to maintain profitability while countering audience boredom.
PS Politics follows the same rules.
PPS Thank goodness we now have the internet, and can wander off the plantation now and then.

| Quote (HarbingerDawn) Proof (as if we needed more) that popular music is all the same and is not advancing as an art form I wouldn't have realized they were different songs if you hadn't said that. Even then, I didn't realize it until a minute into to the video.

| One thing about popular music that's always bugged me is when only the singer is the one on the album cover, instead of the person/people actually making the music...
