To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as absurd as to assert that in an entire field sown with millet, only one grain will grow.

The people at the planetary society are doing a great job with the pictures.

Here you have the best mosaic of Sputnik planum that we have (click and watch it in High res)

Norgay Montes with the compositional color map overlayed

Norgay Montes in real color

Pluto in color

The northest region of Sputnik Planum has strange features (radial ones for example)

Some parts of this region reminds me of convection cells in stellar surfaces (granulation) but with exotic ices

Nitrogen glaciers wriggle around in the transition zone beetwen dark and white terrain in this color image of Sputnik Planum

And another close-up view of Charon

Added (28.07.2015, 11:33)
---------------------------------------------
CGI renders of Pluto and Charon (soon on SE maybe cry wink )

And everyone is allowed to use these maps (Dan Dixon will use the Pluto-texture in Universe Sandbox ²)

(I already simulated a Pluto-Earth impact and got a free premium activation code)

the two maps are "cubemappable" "dotpackable" and i authorize anyone who want to make an official implementation in SE
I wanna see Scot Manley on youtube exploring Pluto and Charon textured by me biggrin

Great! Yesterday I was studying the Creating custom textures for planets 0.97 thread but somehow got lost wacko . I will give it a second more thorough read today and see what I can come up with.

In particular I am puzzled as to how I am going to convert the png format to raw format in order to feed it to the cubemap tool unsure - I dont have access to any pro editing image software unfortunately sad

Overall very nice textures and very good work!

Franz, are bump images supposed to be 16-bit? Can you upload bump files in 16-bit raw then? Photoshop and IrfanView opens png as 8-bit in some reason.
