| One thing, pretty conspicuous in those images, that has relevance for icy worlds in SpaceEngine, is:
There isn't the slightest hint of ice sheen.
SpaceEngine should get rid of it, except in worlds warm enough for water ices to form thin liquid layers at the surface. Like the Earth. In outer worlds it looks plasticky.
They let me use this!

| lately i have been assembling some maps of Pluto and Charon from new horizons pictures as we got closer. I'm not sure how accurate they are but they fit together alright. what do you think?
Pluto: http://fav.me/d918tlb
Charon: http://fav.me/d91fyqf
---------------- Sadly i did not use the HD part of Pluto in the map yet. I will attempt assembling them once more come down i think. i cant wait to see more of these amazing worlds, my week has been pretty exciting with all this! = )
*EDIT i just updated the Pluto texture with the new HD tiles and did my best. just click the link under the Pluto map to view it! ----------------
And i agree with JCandeias. the shine of the icey worlds in space engine look very plastic and glossy!
sorry for my dyslexia.
never stop imagining beautiful things.

| Good work Snowfall !
I tried porting these into SE, the result is pretty funky :
But it's worth waiting for the hi-res maps.

| Quote FastFourierTransform ( ) Apparently someone is starting to make 3D surface maps with the new images Awesome!
Would be hard to make a "fake" pluto texture? (trying to enhance the side with lower quality)
The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.
CPU: Intel Core i7 4770 GPU: ASUS Radeon R9 270 RAM: 8 GBs
(still don't know why everyone is doing this...)

| Comeon guys! Aren't you excited? We lived to see it being called a planet, later changed to dwarf, and then returning to be the favorite again. And also, scientificaly speaking, we are now able to reach such distance and take beautiful pictures like the one NASA took from Pluto.
I don't know if this thread is kinda off-rules, but I didn't see any thread like this and I think this is the best place to talk about it.
