| I attempted to make true-color edits of the latest Charon and Pluto enhanced color mosaics. Charon turned out better than Pluto IMO, but for a quick attempt I'm happy with both. Click for full res.

| Franz, what bump height values do you use? I'm trying to make normal maps of your textures for use in Celestia, although I don't know which would be the best values to use.
Specs: Dell Inspiron 5547 (Laptop); 8 gigabytes of RAM; Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz; Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit; Graphics: Intel® HD Graphics 4400 (That's all there is :( )

using a shaded image as a height map , never works out well
once the Pluto / Charon STEREO images are released a heightmap will be released but for only about 1/2 of the small body that was imaged
Now Charon works well for using some ( shape from shade) SFS but Pluto -- stereo data ONLY for the most part
see the UnmanedSpaceflight forum for the 3d renders of the jpg's that nasa posted Charon http://www.unmannedspaceflight.com/index.php?showtopic=8072

Pluto is so UN UNIFORM in it's Albedo a EARLY trial picking the BEST image to use http://www.unmannedspaceflight.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=8103&view=findpost&p=227606 this did NOT turn out well http://www.unmannedspaceflight.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=8103&view=findpost&p=227569

| ANOTHER UPDATE
Look at the mosaic:
https://www.nasa.gov/sites....ers.jpg
Will HarbingerDawn colorized this mosaic and post it?
Won't post actual image to the post because it's too big.

| Planets cleared their orbits of comparably massed bodies, making them unique in their orbital space [this is what this part of the IAU definition of planet actually means]. Pluto hasn't achieved this. It is a member of a large number of very similar objects -- the Kuiper Belt.
Pluto is my favorite object in the solar system though. Cold, distant, but with incredibly fascinating geology and atmosphere.

Just kidding.
But yeah, fascinating world indeed. Blew all my expectations when NH arrived

| Pluto is my favorite planet No matter what they say, I don't care ALL PLANETS haven't cleared there orbits, look at the near earth asteroids. Pluto and ceres are planets to me , a planet of every type (rocky, asteroid like, gas,ice dwarf) The new images are cool, how are those images NOT of a planet?! They gotta rethink the definetion and set a size limit, classify by size not by location! at least a size of 2000 Km for objects that may be discovered in the future.
