Cool! Looks like they're using the incidence angle of the light, assuming uniform brightness, and deriving slope angle from that. Someone should do that with the un-bumped southern half of the SE Mercury map - Messenger's Mapping Laser Altimeter was unable to produce usable data for the southern hemisphere because the apoapsis of its orbit was over the southern pole, and was so eccentric that it took the surface outside the altimeter's effective range.

| I just checked the plutonian system and the orbits are very much inaccurate based on the New Horizons encounter. is there a webpage that contains data received from the spacecraft that has these orbit changes?

| Data will be coming in over time. I wouldn't expect a quick & immediate update, but rather a gradual integration of the new data. Much like the continual refinement of science.
That said, it's super-exciting that we're getting a detailed picture of the last body thought to be a planet when most of us were educated on the solar system. And the unique factors of the Pluto system -- mutual tidal lock, few craters -- make it a mystery definitely worth exploring.
