I used to have bluish gray eyes as a child, but that greenish layer grew over the natural color over time. Apparently it's a mutation called "central heterochromia".

Drive to Kilpisjärvi? Ok, a bit dull mouintians there, but from there it's just a short drive through the lovely valley of Helligskogen to Skibotn in Norway, and around there you'll find plenty of pretty nice mountains. Finland has mountains, but they're perhaps just teasers for what you'll find once you cross the border to Norway.

Well yeah we have some with very shallow inclines. They don't really have as awesome views as the mountains you have in Norway.
The reason why i said we have no mountains, is that we have a separate word for those shallow mountains we have and the steep tall mountains elsewhere.

I've gone through that valley once on a trip from Finland to Sweden and then to Norway. Beautiful area.

Well, no 1000m drops, but some steep sides. I've been there a couple of times. This is the path to the three-country cairn looking over Kilpisjärvi towards Finland (to the left):
I think these shots were taken from the Swedish side of the border. From the cairn you're only 33 km from the Atlantic and still in Finland.

| Over the past year I've been programming some tools used to find the path of fireballs across the sky and get it all automated. The key is to find stars in images, since the stars have known positions, and model the lens to create a mapping between sky coordinates and pixels in the image. I can always check how well the tools do by annotating an image with star positions where they are supposed to be according to the model. And the modelling has recently become quite accurate, approaching arcminute accuracy. Such as in the image below (zoom in). The annotation and grid were created automatically - without any manual guidance.

| I created a lego contraption for testing the viscosity of various fluids.
The main apparatus all set up. I was testing it on molasses to begin with. I love this sort of homebrew science.
Detail of the gear box, those motors spin really fast, which is good because I can turn all that speed into torque using that worm gear.
Along with fezes and bowties, brown dwarves are cool.
