If we can know the track of a meteor with precision approaching that level, and model the dark flight reasonably well based on weather data and mass/speed estimates, it's getting quite realistic that something can be found on the ground even in less than optimal terrain.
Four cameras can cover the entire sky effectively giving a 5000x5000 pixel all-sky view (something which would be practically impossible optical wise with a single lens - even though there are 25 MP cameras, consumer fisheye lenses rated at that kind of resolution over the entire frame do not exist).

| Finally, my star calibration programme is working pretty well. I just give it 1 - 2 hours of video and approximate FOV of lens (this could be automatically determined, but would be slow), and my program does the rest figuring out precisely what part of the sky the view covers based on the stars visible in the video.

| What if you control a refracting sphere's IOR with Fresnel? Answer is pretty cool
Although I added a black sphere on the center for more "black holeness", this is pure refraction only. But, there is no scientific accuracy to this unfortunately, and it doesn't reproduce any Einsteinian Rings as well.

| Hmmm, yeah you're right! But only the first is shown, on the original render (8k, I downsized for web ^^) I don't see the other ones. My plan is to try and render an accretion disk a la Interstellar, and see how well I can do it. Smokes simulations are not my favorite thing to do though ...

| I've finally got three cameras in service, which are now properly aligned and calibrated. Which means that I can reproject and stitch the images as I like, and I have almost full coverage of the sky. The three cameras are run by an Odroid U3 credit card size Linux computer (same chipset as the Samsung S3 smartphone) with 3x3 TB disks attached which can hold approximately four months of continuous video.
I'm not going to embed what the combined video looks like, not even with spoilers, because the images are huge. Here are two projections: equirectangular and fisheye.
If anything happens in the sky, I should get pretty good pictures of it now and can pinpoint it within a few arc minutes. I hope to get more systems like this in operation by the next dark season.
