How could I forget! Galaxy Quest! The best Star Trek movie ever made.
While I'm adding films:
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - I have a soft spot for this
Time After Time - also directed by Nicholas Meyer, wherein H. G. Wells time-travels to the 1970s to hunt down Jack The Ripper.
The Last Starfighter - Greetings, Starfighter!
Tron - Probably the first thing I could honestly call a spiritual experience. The fractal echoes of the Users in their programs, and the resonances between the two worlds nearly blew my mind.

I must say that I really didn't care for Blade Runner. I intend to see it again, maybe it will click for me, but the first time I watched it I was not pleased

Really?! That's pretty cool! I personally didn't think it was a very good movie, but it sure did look nice, so I watch it from time to time.

I'll concede that Ridley Scott's more interested in style, atmosphere, and mood than a solid plot. But once I'd learned Deckard was indeed a Replicant, the movie takes on a whole new gravitas for me.
heard Scott admit to Terri Gross on Fresh Air that it was so...which was news to me, I didn't even know it was a possibility or there was debate about it. But then, I had only seen the original theatrical release, which muddied the plot.
Red Planet wasn't a *fabulously great* movie, but I found it more compelling than I expected. A bit like Frodo's quest to Mordor, with AMIEE as Gollum.

I've been fearful this movie would suck (and it still might) but I must confess the clips I've seen are kinda cool, even with the camp and over-the-top designs. Maybe because of it. I hadn't seen this particular clip and I laughed aloud a couple of times. And that cannon is pretty spectacular. Thanks for sharing!

| I love many sci-fi films, but one of my all time favourite films has to be the 'Matrix,' because it relates to my own experience of lucid dreaming and how our connection to our so-called 'waking' reality could be nothing more than an illusion - A dream that we have to awaken from.

I have never had a lucid dream. At least i can't remember having one. Closest i have gotten has been a weird state, where i know i'm dreaming, but it's still like watching a film. I can't effect the dream and i know it is a dream.

That's still a lucid dream. There are different types of lucid dreaming. False awakenings, controllable dreams, nightmare lucid dreams, etc etc.

Apollo 13 (the only historical movie of real human space adventure !)
All Alien quadrilogy
Predator (but not Alien Vs Predator: that sucks)
2001: A space Odyssey and 2010: The year we made contact. Also I would like to read the books 2050 and 3000: the final odyssey - if someone has them and want to sell them  )
And my recent favorite: Sunshine mostly because of the music score!
Ps: And Solaris by Andrei Tarkovski - how I could forget that, also war of the worlds, Independence Day (I really want a sequel to that: Why did they have to invent tha damn virus and completeley anihilate the poor aliens? Cruel humans.. ), The day the earth stood still (with Keanu Reeves), Chain reaction (again with keanu reeves and Morgan Freeman: I really liked the duo on that!),
and another great movie was: Starman! it created the same feelings as Close Encounters!
The Chronicles of Riddick and Pitch Black. Also the last starfighter.

It totally counts. I love that series. 
But why no Battlestar Galactica (the 2004 version)? It's the best Sci-Fi TV-series ever made IMO.
