| Most Star Trek movies, The Matrix, Armageddon, Starship Troopers, Terminator, The Martian. Interstellar is my most favored by far though. Never saw the Total Recall from 2012. Any good?

There is a striking similarity between the female character of Total Recall 2012 and the female character of the game: Wolfenstein The new Order. Also the same is true about the scene with the train between the two.

| I was The Martian a few weeks ago and it shot right to my the tops of my favorites. Interstellar is a very close second, but I felt The Martian had better plot and characters overall.
All you need in life are space games and typhlosions.

| What do you think about the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens?
I think it's pretty cool! I mean, of course it's unrealistic as always, but I found the photography awesome, also the special effects are not exaggerated as you would expect from a film like that.
They probably exaggerated with the publicity, but that's another story.
The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

| New Star Wars movie wasn't bad but it wasn't great. The movie pretty much took it's entire story straight from A New Hope. JJ Abrams also had an insatiable need to constantly show off that he used practical effects throughout the entire movie. The CGI in many places was sub par and really fake looking and the fan service was over the top.
The movie is not deserving of the high praise it is receiving but it was more enjoyable than the prequels.

| I watched it today. Mediocre. Or perhaps the story is getting worn out. Perhaps it gets better if I watch it again. I have another long flight to SF in a couple of weeks, so I might give it another shot if they have the movie on board.

| Finally got a chance to watch The Martian, it was good. I enjoyed it, few things here and there that didn't vibe but overall it was an enjoyable movie. Definitely up there in my list of favorites.

I could never understand how these martian dust-stormes can create such havoc. Mars has ~1% of Earth's atm pressure. How can a storm build such force and move large objects? The only logical explenation is the lower gravity but still I think it is over -dramatisation and holywood exageration.
Also no movie regarding mars takes into account the lower gravity and this one is no exception. All scenes inside the hab (explosions, falling objects, walking, moving, etc..) look like they occur under 1g. I understand that this is very difficult to show in the movie - the only solution would be to film in a plane following a specific curved trajectory which would increase cost a great deal.
Lack of sientific accuracy regarding the effect of gravity was the main reason I didin't like interstellar either: Why did they need a huge rocket to lift-off from earth when they can launch from Millers and Maans planets and reach endurance in orbit inside the rangers/landers??
The only movie that depicted gravity correctly was, well, Gravity.
