I might be going to the US in March as well, unless the US closes its borders, but that's not been suggested.

| Honestly, I think that people are completely overreacting to this whole situation. I have a feeling that Trump's radical rhetoric was just a stunt to get the conservative right all frenzied up and strengthen his support there(which obviously worked).
Think about it - if you're an uneducated farmer living in Nebraska(not trying to stereotype conservatives, but I'm confident that a large segment of them fall within this archetype), what promise is going to be more appealing to you - cancelling some trade agreement you've never heard of, and whose effects you don't know, or "stopping those illegals from stealing our jobs!"? Obviously the latter.
And most of his "extreme" promises aren't even that extreme, in my view. A wall with Mexico? Yes, it sounds silly, but I'm pretty sure that the US-Mexico border is already fortified like a wartime frontline anyway. His other extreme promises will likely just be forgotten. Deporting/Screening Muslims? Just flat out won't happen, I'm pretty sure it would break several discrimination laws, and both Trump and the GOP know this.
Just my opinion on things. I don't live in the US, but that's how the situation looks like to me.

| Not concerned about his implausible campaign promises or the markets. That's just a show of unconfidence with the surprising outcome.
What concerns me is his utterly deplorable temperament, disregard for facts or rigor, and his stance on issues of science, foreign policy, and immigration.
Far as I feel about it, we elected a nightmare.

| Watsisname, I agree. I said, Antarctica seems like a good place to move now because with Trump's stance on climate change, Antarctica might become a green pasture soon (over exaggerating). Also, his foreign policy is crap and he only cares about money. I wonder what his stance is on NASA funding

It appears unclear. Sometimes he says space exploration is important and wants to send humans to Mars. Other times he says potholes are more important than space in what I can only take to be a dismissive and uninterested manner. There have been a number of queries on his stance on scientific matters sent to his campaign. I think the responses are very disheartening. For example:

I think his opinion is that NASA should concentrate on space, not climate, so space exploration wise he probably isn't so bad. The "space" bugdet is fragile under any government, as there are will always be more pressing needs.
I don't find it much surprising that he got elected. A lot of people wanted to send a wake-up call to the elite and establishment. But some commentaries so far reveal so little insight in that camp, so I don't know if it's working, commentaries that are even dumber than Trump's voters.
Trump is probably much better for US-Russia relations than Clinton. Trump and Putin understand each other. Both have support from the same kind of voters, and will understand each others policies and less likely interfere with each other. I think they will divide the world between them, whereas Clinton would have no less than world dominition, making her very dangerous when a need for diplomacy arise.

NASA's scientific contributions are multidisciplinary and go just as much towards understanding Earth as understanding space, even since the Apollo program. Largely because of the Apollo program, which was pivotal in getting us to regard the Earth itself as a planet worthy of study and emphasized the usefulness of space-based observations. Researchers around the world use remote sensing data from NASA-based missions to study everything from geology, biology, oceanography, the cryosphere, the atmosphere, weather and climate. To gut these programs to focus on space exploration alone would set a lot of our science back. And all of these fields are relevant to climate science, so we cannot simply say "have NASA leave climate science but allow the rest".
