Just watched the first episode of the MARS series on Nat Geo. It was pretty good! It did leave me with one question though...

Why would you choose your base camp / landing site to be in Valles Marineris? tongue

edit:

but why does the skies of mars in the show is so white and bright?
also it looks like they forgot about gravity...all seems to walk pretty much like on earth and even the sand fall like on earth

I was bored, so I combined some images from Curiosity's NAVCAM to create 3D pictures [cross your eyes to view(sorry people who can't cross their eyes)]
First three are from yesterday. Last one is from Murray Buttes.

Hornblower, I like those! They really emphasize the vast distances, which are otherwise not obvious in a single image.

I will have to try to convert some of those 3D images to work with my Vive, it would probably be easier on the eyes than going cross eyed.

DoctorOfSpace, for the vive, you will have to switch which side they're on. (Although I assume you already know this)

Will require a bit more than that to make them display right, but will see if I can do it anyway.

I swapped the sides at one of the pictures, for parallel view.
For some people the parallel view is easier than the crossview.

JackDole, I believe the term is wall-eyed (opposite of cross-eyed). But I could be wrong.

Hornblower,
I believe wall-eyed is just an urban expression: Urban Dictionary: Wall-eyed

The official expression is parallel view.

Addition: Next time, I'm going to try an experiment which incorporates cross-view and parallel-view into the same image

Hornblower,
I like your pictures, as I generally like such stereo pictures. smile

But as I said, I find 'parallel view' much easier, although the pictures, or the screen must not be too large.

If you search with Google for 'JackDole parallel view' and then go to 'Pictures', you may find some pictures from me. Also, if you search here in the forum for 'parallel view'. biggrin
