| If you remove rings from Saturn, it become no more spectacular than Neptune. All cold gas giants looks boring. I must update SE shaders.

| If only pluto had rings and was the size of earth but the same color/moons/surface features. Then it wouldn't be a dwarf planet. Charon would be size of mars and the 2 would be viewed as giants not as dwarfs. And all the other objects would be tiny compared to it the ones in the kuiper belt. If only earth had a ring system, but a bit fainter than saturn's. Or if we had discovered our sun's binary a faint brown dwarf or a y dwarf, out there in the outer darkness, with his system of worlds and very much life, but not in our terms.

If that were true then the entire outer solar system would be shaped by their gravity, and of course they would be planets. But they're not like that. I don't see the point of this hypothetical exercise.

| lol Pluto is composed at least by 50% of water ice. It is Iceworld in SE classification - have a rocky core and ice mantle and crust.
This pictures must be interpreted as reversal - amount of not H2O substances, covered icy crust of the planet.

| Blurry spots are regions that were captured from greater distances. Pluto rotates once in about 6 Earth days, so during New Horizon's approach we could watch as different parts of the world rotated into view. Thus we can build a whole map the surface (except the parts currently in polar night -- thus the dark region). However, the resolution depends on distance, which changes tremendously over 6 days. So this is like scanning Pluto from East to West, with increasing resolution that peaks at the moment of flyby.
The only way to get a uniform high-resolution mapping of a world is to go into orbit of it, but we didn't have that luxury with New Horizons. We wanted to get there fast, which contradicts staying there long.

| If it were up to me I would have used Cerberus and Crios. Vulcan doesn't make sense because it represents heat and fire and pluto is an ice cold planet and so are it's moons.

| It's more planet like than most have thought. Most expected a boring cratered dead world like ceres or mercury, thats not what we have seen, just because pluto's orbit isn't clear that doesn't mean it doesn't have planet like traits, planet enough for me. New images
