Well that was a lot simpler than I thought it'd be. Thanks!

iTz, Photoshop didn't export alpha channel in png images, it merged it with RGB channels and export as RGB. Use another graphics editor, or export as TGA and use SE console command to convert it to correct RGB + alpha PNG:

SavePNG textures/planets/myrings.tga

Path is relative to SE folder. Console is opened by the ~ key. If you have no this key, you may assign another one in the F8 menu.

What would you recommend? Gimp?

I would. I personally prefer it to Photoshop in nearly every way. I only touch PS if I have to work with 16-bit images or extremely large files (like 1 gigapixel RGB images). Otherwise I use GIMP, and it usually does a better job.

One more thing, is there a way to add asteroid belts, dwarf moons, and comets to your custom solar system procedurally?

No, though it may be possible one day.

For asteroid belts and comets, you could find a system that has ones you like, export the system script, and then copy the relevant sections to your own catalog.

I've been messing around in the config trying to make a custom solar system. Everything's going perfectly fine, but I'm still pretty confused about how the color system works for things other than the terrain colors. Is there a name for it or something? I'd like to know if there's some color wheel I could use to edit the colors instead of just guessing blindly or copying other planets.

iTz, I forgot to remind you before, but please read the forum rules. You don't need to create a new thread for every question or issue that you have. Use the search function to see if the issue has been addressed already, and if it hasn't then try to find an appropriate existing thread to post in.

This is the only "color system" in SE that I can think of, unless you're talking about planet palettes.

I am not sure if this is an issue with the current update, but the cloud color parameter doesn't seem to work. When I alter the color in the Clouds{} tag, the clouds still appear white in game. Is this just something that isn't working with the current version, or am I missing something?

Unfortunately you can't change the color of the clouds, their colors are fixed based on the type of planet they're on.

Yeah, I was having trouble with that too, I was trying to make some green clouds to match the atmosphere, but that didn't really work out.

RGB on a 0 to 1 scale, as with all colors in the planet scripts.

Hi there, I'm a long time user of Celestia, and recently decided to try my hand at custom worldbuilding for SpaceEngine, so I got SE, and right now, I am attempting to recreate a circumbinary planet I made for DEL Tri in Celestia. Right now, my issue is, is it possible to set a localized referenceplane, local to the system's Inclination and AscendingNode, since for the 8 Tri stars, the Inclination is 56.714 and AscendingNode is 122.736, so that way for the planet's orbit I can use something like Inclination 1.4662, AscendingNode 313.9975 instead of slightly tweaking the first set of numbers?

EDIT: And as for textures in the current version of SE, is it possible to use an existing, single, 2048x1024 image for a planet instead of going through the entire CubeMap procedure?
