I love Space Engine and it's exactly the sort of thing I would like to run on my Rift when it arrives!

Hello WormSlayer, and welcome to the forum. Please take a moment to read the forum rules.

An Oculus Rift thread already exists here. In the future, please use the search function before creating new threads.

Thanks!

Was waiting for Harb to merge the threads before responding. This would be cool but would also require Space Engineer to get his hands on the device and SDK and that is $300+. Seems like this would only be useful for free mode or when a first person walking mode is added. Can't see a 3D view being of any real use though when in space.

What are you apologizing for? I wasn't addressing you...

In that case, point is not 3d, but huge FOV, comparable with triple monitor setup + headtracking.

For me, the OR could make SE more immersive. Not thanks to the 3D, but thanks to the vision angle...

I thought that you were addressing, saying that a thread like this had already been created. :P

I was addressing WormSlayer, as I stated in my post, and the "already created" thread I was talking about was created by you (this thread).

Ohh, ok. I thought that you were just welcoming WormSlayer to the forums, and then you addressed me. But it was WormSlayer
that had created the other Oculus thread. I see :P

Actually, I think that you could order them even if you live in Europe, it's just like 50 or 75 dollars more expensive.

edit: It's 45 dollars more

And not worth it right now. No games support it and its only just gotten started. I would wait a few years for a retail model to come out and for more support.

All the information can be found in their kickstarter page:
Kickstarter: Oculus Rift

And their site:
Oculus Rift Official Website

Even Gabe Newell is supporting them. So far they raised over 2 million bucks.

biggrin
