Actually, I...kinda forgot how I found out about SE.

Basically I was on a MAD search for ANYTHING with seamless planetary landing. Like...I was getting desperate. I even downloaded some old game called The Tomorrow War that had planetary landing (It pretty much sucked). It was around the time I discovered Infinity: The Quest for Earth (which I still follow closely). I think I found out about SE either through a youtube video, or a forum thread.

First thing I did was fly right onto a planet...I was just like: "Oh.............my...............god......." HOOOLLLYYYY SHIIIITTT!!!! :DDDD

I was happy.

Found out about it because of a thread in Something Awful back in August 2011. Wish I had made an account right then, my name would appear in that front page list, heh.

My first session was a little troublesome, I was changing the field of view and thinking I was zooming, but I got the hang of it pretty fast.

Swear means something like blasphemy, doesn't it?

I have no idea what the etymology is, nor does it matter, all that is needed is to know what it means in this context, which refers to words that are excessively vulgar.

If you want a language lesson on this, there are other very informative places on the internet that you could look up very easily.

Hey guys new at the forums but not to the software.

I learned about Space Engine from a post on the forums of the site for the old space exploration game Noctis IV.

Ah! Sorry man, I didn't even notice. It's way too easy to make that mistake, how the forum handles quotes could probably be recoded so that that never happens... I fixed my earlier post.

This is what swearing is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLN6c_U0Acg
(Ignore the video, it's about the audio. And don't open that link if you don't like bad language)

I occasionally stream at http://www.twitch.tv/magistermystax. Sometimes SE, sometimes other games.

I remember it like it was yesterday, I was googling around one late night in my bed on a smartphone and found a forum talking about space games, they mentioned this russian game and I saw a youtube video of it and was stunned, this is what I was looking for because I have a fetish for procedural generation. I was flabbergasted and tried to download it in the morning.

BEEEEP, crash. Turns out my video card wasn't sufficient, I ordered one instantly and after a few weeks it finally got here and I installed it and played, I was amazed because this software is truly incredible. I played it for a full straight 7 hours I believe and I still play it. cool It's really the only game that has ever made me go buy what ever I needed so I could experience it first hand.

Great stuff.

I was on the French Orbiter Community reading some threads, waiting Curiosity to enter Mars' Atmosphere when I saw "Explorez l'univers EN ENTIER !" (witch can be translated as "Explore the ENTIRE universe !"). It was reffering to Space Engine, and when I read that SE is capable of rendering worlds entirely from scratch, using procedural generation, I downloaded.
My first session was like "OH MY ***** GOD ! IT IS FULL OF STARS !" and during the next 3 hours searching for habitable planets I was just amazed by the graphics, the "reality" of the thing and all the objects rendered. I past a long time getting in the center of galaxies, searching for black holes, and watch the stars being distorted cool (Then I searched why this "Gravitational lensing" and I found Vsauce, on a side note).
Since that, I never reopened Celestia.
