I searched around the forum to see if there was a thread about showing of your custom systems in Space Engine. But there was none, so i made this one. I'll start off with this custom system i made.
The Viper is an old planet with an advanced alien race. The environment on the planet seems hostile, both on surface, and in space. The alien race seems to have some kind of sun beam that is blinding, making it difficult to get close.
Here's a set of two Terras orbiting each other. The one on the right is suitable for earth life. But on the left there is a planet with life, but it is near impossible to land on it, since the atmospheric pressure is similar to a gas giant.
The Viking definitely has one of the prettiest sights in the solar system. The gas giant is in a critical state to become a brown dwarf, also making it the most unstable planetary system.
And these three planets just doesn't obey the laws of physics.
This system isn't a "custom"system, but i wanted to add it. It's the Kepler-186 System, the first system found with an earth-sized planet in the habitable zone.
You *might* want to move this thread to the Mods and Addons section. I'm saying this because I have a mod I have pictures for, but also want to show the code file here so that people can explore it for themselves.
3.14% of all seafarers are PIrates. *** Got Mole Problems? Call Avogadro at 602-1023 *** Google Search my picture to discover whom it depicteth.
Actually, the high-pressure one would- if you had the right kind of hull- be easy to land on, you might not even need parachutes!
Tips for finding Earth-Like planets: Look for F, G, or K Class stars. M class habitables will almost always be tidelocked. Oceanias can, of course, also be habitable, they just have tiny amounts of land.
Here it is. I was inspired to create it after reading Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter's book The Long Earth, which is about a series of parallel universe Earths: $IMAGE2$ With atmosphere and clouds turned off: $IMAGE3$ Edit: I can't seem to upload the next two photos. Anyway, the second planet is a desert with gray water added, and the fourth is a greenhouse-y terra with a temp of 100 C.
You should check your console or se.log for any bad or missing texture files. Also, I'm unsure if adding textures to planets works if the planet has a procedural landscape. And make sure you have the "night-side lights" option turned on!
I will be inactive on this forum for the time being. Might come back eventually
Okay, I made it work! I had to make a custom texture file for the planet, put in the texture data into the .sc file for the system (I looked at the Earth file as an example), and this is my result. http://i.imgur.com/zjLBpEU.png

I spent a lot of time creating my own solar system. It has over 40 different planetary bodies so I'll just show some of the highlights here.
Here's a nice view of Vita from its moon, a purple terra called Viovida.
And here you can see Viovida in all its beauty. It's probably my favorite planet.
But then there's Horus, an enormous gas giant over 275,000 km in diameter. The picture is taken from the north pole of the terra, Posidus, with Magmis lighting up the night sky.
Then here's Viridia, the very very green bug planet covered in rainforest, with a deep red sunset which can last several days.
Here's a nice shot of Horus again, this time from the ringed moon, Turqui.
Albus is a very empty looking moon, so much so that it seems like an endless void. It has been known to drive explorers mad from the sheer sense of isolation.
Here's a sunset on Swisla, a snowy ice world sort of like Hoth, with the crescent of Ignis, the most massive planet, in the background.
Finally, there's Dulcia, taken from the surface of its moon Vampris. It gets its pink color from mega-colonies of aeroplankton that cover the surface, strangely enough, the first explorers of Dulcia found out that the little creatures made the air taste sweet, making all the jokes of Dulcia being made of candy at least partially correct. There's all sorts of constantly flying creatures on the planet as well.
