The 3D ocean simulation reported by you is remarkable

What about this SpaceEngineer? It is an amazingly smooth simulation. Can this be added to the engine? It looks cheap for the computer perfomance:

Couldn't something, at least in the short term, similar to the cloud bump be applied to the water?

It might look half decent in screenshots.

^this and slow down the animation of water surface. It looks more realistic from up close when the time flow is set to 0,3, Imho.

Just want to bump this topic to add some videos that might provide inspiration:

Both are real-time rendered. That first one is newer.

I think that all the stuff uploaded on this thread is high-quality dope sh1t. (Sorry for the term.).
But,being really honest, this is kind of a joke on the SE community right now,I mean,c'mon, this thread is on air for more than 5 years. 5 YEARS.
Is just me that is sick of hearing those "is coming soon"? I know Vlad is a really busy guy, but there are a LOT of talented programmers on this website. Such as HarbingerDawn, anonymousgamer, Rodrigo's, and begginers of C++.
We gived them for YEARS codes,videos,examples,Open-Sources,github stuff, and others, that they don't need to programm almost anything! Isn't just easier Copy-Paste there, make some adjustments to the engine's settings, and BOOM,there you have it,fully rendered photorealistic water, and volumetric clouds.
Really, tehre is a sh1tton of material in DirectX,OpenGL, and Java that are Open-SOurces,or even entire codes to you use,and we don't do nothing with it!
Admins, could you guys,OH HOLY CHRISTS OF THIS FORUM, explain me why this isn't a very well stabilished feature? WE ADDED EFFECTS TO GODDAMN BLACK HOLES,DON'T TALK ME ABOUT TIME.

arturuniverse,
This could be because this program belongs entirely SpaceEngineer!
That this is entirely a project of SpaceEngineer!
This program is NOT open source. And it never will (probably) be OPEN SOURCE!

Don't forget to look here.

Apologizing does not make breaking the forum rules okay.

Before you post again I recommend reading the rules and learning to express yourself better.

There are so many things that need to be fixed in the engine before such features can be implemented properly, it is not as simple as copy and pasting code from the internet.

Community contributors only work with what is available and help Vladimir improve in those regards. Nobody has access to the source code since it is owned by SpaceEngineer.

No, that is not how this works. First off many of those examples are proprietary code and require rights to use, you can't just take someone's work and stick it in your engine. Second there is no copy and paste, different engines use different methods of rendering and different structures of code, you can't copy and paste from one engine and just expect it to work in another. In regards to SpaceEngine it would require a fairly substantial overhaul to it's graphical engine, which is planned but for one person it is not an easy task.

Improving the black holes is not the same as overhauling an entire engine.

there could be no engine like that....
if you think its so easy, do it yourself

I feel the need to jump in here to address this: I can't speak for the others, but as for me, I am NOT a programmer, and I have next to no programming knowledge. I could not help to implement any features like the ones that are the topic of this thread. All I could possibly do is make minor edits and additions to existing code, and even then the work would be slow due to my lack of knowledge and experience. And the features being discussed here require a lot of work with GLSL shaders, which I am even less adept at working with than I am with C++. I think your estimations of the skills of SE community members, as well as the difficulty of implementing these features, are off by a significant margin.

And as DoctorOfSpace mentioned, please try to express yourself better; this includes better word choices and text formatting.

Iv'e admit it,I was quite rude in my comment in the top, and I actually come back here to fix some things that I writed wrong, but as I see, people perceived my error thinking that I could be as savage as a monkey posting that comment.
First of, I thinked a lot, yes, and remebered that programming a an engine so complicates sucha as Space Engine is not easy, and requires a smooth coding with trained and specialized people, such as professional programmers.
When I revised the credits of the game,I didn't read carefully enough, and made the mistake of thinking that you guys are Ph.D.
I gently ask that the majority of you excuse me for my comment.
And,seriously, why my comment atratcted so much attention? I mean, I was going to correct it, but suddenly, there are, 1,2,3,4...
4 people, wich 3 of them are moderators, and the third one is the Legendary spacer, wich i see in every post.

(P.S: The Pepe is rare,do not stole it).

You can see I was learly mad from the suggestion page, and even the emails i sent to Vlad:

Your comment attracted attention mostly because was violating several netiquette rules, secondly because as you said you were uninformed.

I'd be careful with these kinds of comments that you're sick & tired of 'this' or 'that'. Space Engine is the product & passion of one man, and we should do everything in our power to appreciate that. Undeserved negativity has killed plenty of small, independent projects. I hope that Space Engine will never be one of those.
