| Quote arturuniverse ( ) TODO list, or screenshots, changelogs, every month, instead of every year. SpaceEngineer is already spending time to keep us informed with descriptions, ideas and screenshots whenever he's making some fixes or he's introducing some variations or new capabilities. Even asking for help, sometimes.

| It would be a good idea to add climate to the planets? sand storm or snowstorm ?

| if you guys are gonna implement 3D clouds, is there gonna be 3d clouds on gas gaints? if not, that would be cool

| maybe put in the iler setting atmospheric composition, where you place the rough amounts of how much of each gas you want in a planets atmosphere, eg: carbon dioxide: 0.01-0.1%, O2: 20-50%, SO2: 0.001-0.01%
The filter would look at all your gas proportions, and account them into finding your planet. This would also help to prevent "carbon-shaming," or when a planet has an absurd amount of carbon dioxide in it's atmosphere.

| I think spaceengine needs to have volumetric clouds in the next update. But there should be a button to toggle normal and volumetric in case it lags more.

Yes, I completely agree. However I don't think it's as simple as just "adding volumetric clouds", I imagine it would be a lot of work for SpaceEngineer and probably be in the place of a few other updates. But I think it would be completely worth it!

| Okay, so I think that SpaceEngine needs 1. better clouds and 2., better land generation. I propose that you should contact the people who created Outerra Engine (outerra.com), and see if you guys could collaborate. Outerra is amazing - it procedurally generates the whole earth. It's very realistic, has trees and volumetric clouds - The only problem is that it's confined to one planet. I think that if you could use this Engine for SpaceEngine, it could vastly improve the game.
Here's a video of what Outerra can do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmWmXaBkaIk

| The important thing here is our pattience. I don't care if it takes a lot of time. Now that we know SE can have this incredible additions. I would wait until it gets sufficiently realistic and good looking. Supernovas have some work ahead also.

| I am not sure how hard it would be to store information like this, but what about mapping related features? There's only the journal for that. I believe that a few features that allow for some mapping (especially with the game component) could be implemented to help in that regard, though I am not sure how difficulty such features would be to implement.
Like the ability to highlight points of interests, label sectors and connect lines between stars (so you can have a trail of bread crumbs lying about) would open up a lot of potential for using Space Engine as a creative tool (like what editable in-game wikis are doing) alongside its planetarium application.
In regards to the scaling of maps the parent bodies also could also be highlighted by association. On the system scale this works, but on the interstellar scale I am not sure how much a highlighted system would logically scale up and many, many problems arise from the idea of simply having the highlighted point scale up to the galactic scale as if it were a nebula. For instance, what if someone highlights 1000 star systems within 100 ly of Earth?

| Quote Idgelios ( ) but what about mapping related features I really like this idea, actually! I do hope that this gets added to the To-do list.

| Suggestion!
A paper has been published (with peer review) that shows the aproximate appearance of Hot Jupiters from space. The study shows, cloud patterns distribution, optical depth, thermal emission, pressure and color for 7 different kinds of atmopheres (CaTiO3, Al2O3, MgSiO3, Fe, Cr, MnS or Na2S gas dominated) for a range of temperatures from 1000K to 2100K.
One of the discoveries is that the star-facing hemisphere (tidal locking is assumed for Hot Jupiters) has no cloud formations generally while the night side is completly covered. Another interesting discovery is that in the star-facing hemisphere there's a leak of cloud formations in the East for certain temperature ranges (a cloud patter that has probably been observed with Kepler).
This appearance for planets needs to be added to SpaceEngine sooner or later, for the glory of realism and exotism

| Just had an idea, I already speak of a better accuracy of RA, Dec and Dist but if we but the star is at the center of a galaxy without being put RA, Dec and Dist, Space Engine the cell generates in the center of the galaxy and all alone in the console gives us what is necessary to, it is possible ? I think it already uses this system for randomly generated stars in galaxies random (or cataloged), not ?
