| I used SE textures to make a planet and moon in Blender. :)
All you need in life are space games and typhlosions.

| Some mother of pearl clouds yesterday. Not a big display, but the first this winter. I was expecting these after the hurricane that hit Norway this weekend.

| I've been making improvements off and on to my galaxy generator. Unlike SE's, it's fully procedural, i.e. there's no galaxy image used, only cloud sprite images; and it animates in real-time (although much faster than real speed ):

Live demo: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u....o2.html It can also simulate polar jets, for use in accretion disks:

| Very nice. I've had a long pause too, mostly just waiting for warmer weather and clearer skies.

| Hello, I do work on film for a living (editor and colourist mainly but also Director and Director of photography from time to time). I also happen to have a hobby in the same field which is doing Visual Effects (CGI). Useless to say I'm a space lover and I try to put my passion into my hobby.
Here is a 3D render of The Helix Nebula:
I plan to do a series of different Nebula. Next one should be the "Rosette Nebula".

| Some photos I just recovered from another hard drive. I think I might have posted a couple of these before, but most are new. Cool places and scenes.

| I went on a short vacation over the past week to go ghost hunting at an old asylum in West Virginia with my brother and an old friend of mine.
I was going to wait to post about it until I finished sorting through all the images but I stumbled across something rather strange. Perhaps someone here can offer a reasonable explanation as to what this is.
My first guess was the shadow from the door, but it doesn't line up, it isn't another person as the hall was cold on the FLIR and the only other two people were behind me. I am at a loss for an explanation on this one.
I still plan to make a larger post later with more pictures.

| Ghost hunting? Really?
The following images are enhanced with Retinex filter in Gimp. The first one is used for wild-guessing your positions in the other two:

the second one is farther in the corridor, you may notice the wooden door on the right, the upper part seems to be bent. or there's another door behind maybe?

Wild-guessing again the distance from the back wall, with a conservative estimate of floor tiles and door frames, and taking into account of your position I'd say that the strange shadow on the third image:
could be interpreted as the shadow casted by the flash as a sum of the two doors, the nearer bent one being at 6-8 meters or more from the back.
Edit: I constantly forget about 600kb limit of attachments, ouff...
