Wow, how did you manage that?

I used the greyscale heightmap and color export in SpaceEngine for 1/6 of the planet's surface with Arma II's tools and followed the community tutorials on it, but it was such a confusing and tedious process.

SpaceEngine's maximum export size for each square heightmap section seems to be 4096x4096, otherwise it crashes. That limits the resolution possible for the terrain, so a super-detailed section map (10meter/pixel) corresponding to 100-10000 square kilometers on the planet would be needed in order to get 1:1 terrain matches for something really awesome.

I jammed it into Arma III Alpha:

The max res depends on your graphics card, whatever its maximum texture size is (in my case, it's 16384*16384). It's also possible to run into driver timeout issues when exporting the textures, which can be circumvented by registry edits (but only if absolutely necessary).

Thanks, I'll have to try to change that timeout then. I have a GTX 680 2048MB, so I'll see what size I can get and maybe try importing again with more detail.

I recently started to port over SE textures to Universe Sandbox 2, this is the Milky Way & Andromeda collision with SE textures:

I made this drawing in photoshop. Took about an hour.
Keep in mind that I got a C at art in school so this might not be great.

It's supposed to be a dragons eye.

Millions have photographed the same view before me, but I did it anyway. Quiz: Anyone able to recognise all of them?

Wow midtskogen, those are great, you've seen some amazing sights.

I'll give my best guess on them:
