| Ascended Glittertind again this week, 2452 masl + a varying amount of ice and snow making it the highest point in Norway from time to time. And again fog and nothing to be seen... I've yet to see the view from either of the two highest peaks in Norway.
An unusually cold day too, -5.3C at the summit.

We'll know better in the 2030's. We do not know as a certain fact that the sun will go into a Maunder like sleep. And we do not know as a certain fact that such a state affects climate. But there is some evidence supporting both hypotheses. So perhaps it's true.
I think that they're likely right that northern Europe will be colder in the 2030's than today, but they also need to be right for the right reasons and I'm not fully convinced. The long periodic ocean circulations also play an important role and will have a cooling effect on northern Europe in the next few decades. So I expect a debate whether a cooler climate in the 2030's is caused by the sun or the ocean circulations, or both.
This cooling is local, restricted to the north Atlantic, but it might influence the global warming debate since the recent warming of these areas has widely been attributed to global warming, which could at least in part be challenged if there is now a cooling. I certainly hope that it will finally be learned that the Atlantic arctic, which recently has attracted a lot of researchers who go there to study global warming, is possibly the worst place to study global warming, since the natural variation there is so large. If you want to study something, you rather ought to do it in a place with as little noise as possible.

| Hi Folks,
We are working on the planetarium show project and looking for a good content to display on large walls.
I know there is amazing things that can be created with the SE. Therefore we decided to see if
someone would be interested in helping us with this. Resolutions of the videos has to be 3840x3240. This is a configuration of the video wall 2x3 displays (1920x1080). Or that can be scaled 1:1 to this size. E.g. 1920x1620 (minimum size that we can accept).
Content has to be:
1. Traveling through planets and moons in Solar system.
2. Interstellar travel
3. Alien planets
4. Traveling to other galaxies, nebulas, clusters, black holes etc.
Videos has to be interesting to watch. There should not be any controls on the Screen.
We are willing to pay e.g. 5$ a minute. Please contact me if interested : narbuzov at gmail.com

| Long term weather forecasts or season forecasts have so far been too inaccurate to have any use. However, there's a simple method to improve the models greatly: They should simply check with me or my boss when my vacations start. For instance, here's the temperature plot for July:
