X-class solar flare earlier today, with Earth-directed CME's. Could be a good aurora display coming soon.

Geomagnetic storm now subsiding, with a max Kp index of 7 which makes it the strongest of the year. Went out to see if I could catch the end of it, but darkness didn't fall in time. Apparently it was a pretty good show for those who could see it.

Looking at my camera recordings, apparently some weak activity here after 01:00UTC when the clouds cleared somewhat over here, but nothing unusual.

Given the time of max activity, the best view would have been had by Greenlanders, Icelanders, and puffins. Just about everybody got ripped off.

I wasn't sure where to put this, so I'll just stick it here.
So basically, while using SE, I became curious as to whether or not I could see parallax in other stars in SE. Long story short, I tried it and was pleasantly surprised to find that I could. The next logical step is to see if I can calculate the distance to other stars using this.

That's it. It isn't really anything special but it shows the amount of detail in SE.

Well, it's a physical inevitability. SE is a 1:1 3D representation of the universe, with the size of Earth's orbit being accurate, as well as the distance of the stars. Therefore, it is impossible for parallax to be absent.
