Where I live, most people are drunk/high off their asses all the time, and I don't think a single person around here knows the difference between "your" and "you're". </forever alone XD>

I feel your pain. I have the same problem here, although there are some pretty smart people around, most are pretty dumb. Although i do live on the countryside, so most of the people i meet are farmers or their children, which means they tend to not be interested in stuff that requires higher intelligence.

Let's try to refrain from discussing things in terms like this to keep in accord with the forum rules.

Thank god for the internet.... sort of. Cuz now im addicted

This forum encompasses the bulk of my social life, so you're not alone there. There aren't really any things like this in the real world to funnel like-minded people with common interests into a single place, and certainly none where you can take the time to type out exactly what you want to say, and then edit it later if you got it wrong XD Inefficient though it may be for real conversation, forums like this can be a great way to connect with cool people.

I wish Carl could've lived long enough to see the rise of the internet as it is today or what it could be in the future. Not only for his own amusement but for what he could've accomplished with the technology available today.

i once saw a funny little pic about sagan, much like a small cartoon, if i can find it i'll post it here.

note: it's not really about carl sagan's scientific career, but when i saw that one i rolled off the chair from laughing (not really, but almost)!

So many great videos on the net.

The comments however are not so great.

Hardly necessary! You only need to hide in corners when I start using red text smile

Precisely why I never read them.

Sometimes I glimpse and wonder what they could possibly be responding to. Then I find myself reading through a lot of ridiculous and silly comments. And after all of that I wonder why I end up with a headache. wacko
