| I know that there are quite a few people on the forum who are Carl Sagan fans and whose lives he has fundamentally influenced. This thread is here to discuss all things Carl Sagan-related and/or share how Sagan has influenced your life (to conform to the forum rules, please no drug references).
To kick things off, here's a very inspiring story of how Carl Sagan dealt with an aspiring astrophysicist named Neil deGrasse Tyson

| I actually first heard Carl Sagan a few months ago, but judging by his documentary series, he seemed like an awesome guy.

| Quote (Antza2) I actually first heard Carl Sagan a few months ago, but judging by his documentary series, he seemed like an awesome guy. Yup, the best. It would be difficult to name a greater man in recent history (though that of course depends on the criteria by which you judge greatness).
In continuing the theme of adding Sagan-themed media, here's a picture of a Carl Sagan paper doll I put together (I don't normally do things like this, but hey, it's Carl Sagan!)

| I read his last book, A Demon Haunted World, a couple years ago. That was quite a good read.

| Quote (DoctorOfSpace) I read his last book, A Demon Haunted World, a couple years ago. That was quite a good read. Indeed it was, although technically his last book was Billions and Billions. I actually never finished reading The Demon-Haunted World (I don't have the attention span to read like I used to ) but I would absolutely recommend it to anyone and everyone who can read English.
Continuing with the Sagan-themed media, in case no one here knows about it, there's a music project by John Boswell called "Symphony of Science", and the first several songs/videos prominently featured Carl Sagan. I highly recommend this as well.
The first was "A Glorious Dawn" (which I also own on vinyl ):
I also own a Glorious Dawn t-shirt:
Clicking on the picture above links to where you can buy the shirt, in case anyone wants it.

| Quote (HarbingerDawn) although technically his last book was Billions and Billions. I didn't know that, will have to look into it. I've always heard and been told his last book was A Demon Haunted World as he died shortly after.
I still have this bookmarked, every episode of Cosmos is on youtube.

| Quote (DoctorOfSpace) I've always heard and been told his last book was A Demon Haunted World as he died shortly after. I had thought so too when I bought it, then I looked it up and found out that there was one more, though it wasn't published until after he died.

| Quote (DoctorOfSpace) Site I posted page on Cosmos I saw the site (already went there and watched some things), but I'm such a huge proponent of Cosmos that I wanted to give it special attention If I could I would make it mandatory that every human watch that show.
I'm actually surprised that more people haven't posted in this thread, I know we have more Sagan fans than this on the forum.

It may be that there are fewer regular visiting members though.

| He was a really inspiring scientist, his works really made me feel his passion for life and learning. My first approach to his work was reading The Demon-Haunted World.
