They've already checked and the shiny particles are native Martian material, so, I wonder what it is? 'shiny' could be almost anything, I initially thought of metal, but minerals can also be shiny or bright.
Also, the Sky Crane is such a litterbug, they've already found some other tiny bits that came off of the skycrane :P

Also, when I set the langiage in Google translate as auto detect (yes I kniow it's finnish) and plugged in the link, it detected the langiage as Maltese, wut? O.o Anyways, I manually set it to Finnish.

The small specks. Apparently they thought that they originated from the rover, but it appears they do not.

I don't think that anyone assumed the specks were from the rover. The checked it out as a possibility of course, but I don't recall that being the judgement of the team.
