| Quote (DoctorOfSpace) That just looks fantastic. One of the most remarkable things about the MastCams besides the Bayer color filters is the ability to change focus. It allows shots like this to be taken and really gives it something of an artistic quality.

| Curiosity has taken its first self portrait I edited the image a bit to make it a little easier to see since MAHLI has very hazy vision with the dust cover on (I assume that is the issue).

| Quote (DaninAus) So is Opportunity or Spirit still working or are they both stuffed now? Spirit was declared dead in May 2011, and had been out of contact since March 2010. Opportunity is still happily rolling across the surface at Endeavour Crater with over 35 kilometers now on the odometer.

Thanks mate,
I just don't hear that much about those rovers anymore. Especially now that Curiosity is roaming around.
Didn't 1 of Spirit's wheels get jammed up or something like that? Either way, both of those rovers weren't expected to last that long so it's a great job by everyone involved to have at least 1 of them still working.
