| Quote (Solaris) Mars Curiosity Descent - Smooth-Motion Pretty nice, but the landing was all messed up, he accelerated it many times (probably because interpolating the dust didn't work for him)! So it was not all real time, just the parts before the landing. It also probably should have had reduced saturation, but all the MARDI vids people make are like that :/
Here's a version without the messed up landing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJgeoHBQpFQ
And here's an interesting "stabilized" version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBK-t5DQ7Nw

| Those videos are all kinds of awesome.
I made the mistake of reading comments though.

| So I assume that everyone has heard by now about the discovery of the ancient Martian riverbed by Curiosity?

| A close up photograph of the piece of plastic that Curiosity found on (and seemingly littered onto) Mars.

| Was expected that it was part of the rover. I mean Mars has sand storms so you wouldn't expect to find such a piece of metal on top of the soil. Still I think its great they don't leave anything to chance.

| Isn't plastic? I've read that it's likely a piece of plastic wrap from a cable. If it was metal, it could be just the top of the iceberg of something, uncovered by sandstorm Anyway I always enjoy unusuals found up-there.

Probably plastic I have read a few different articles on it so I might be mistaken.

| It is definitely plastic, and it looks very much like it did come from a cable or group of cables.
