Post here any ships you've made for SpaceEngine. These can be ones made with SHW's Ship Editor, or ones you've made on your own with other software.

I also created a "drydock" using the ship editor smile This version has a half-built ship inside. The .json file to use it with the editor is attached.

I, for one, love straigt-to-the-point, functional designs on machines. Just like I prefer the western mech designs, like in Mechwarrior, over eastern design conventions like Gundam and such.
Anyways I completed a ship.

EDIT: Wait, how do I determine the exact size of the ship I created (for the script)? Did I miss something?

To get rid of the odd specular behavior, open the texture file in Photoshop or GIMP and get rid of the alpha channel (remove the transparency to make it opaque). That will cure that particular issue.

It's a problem with tangent calculations in SE. I am going to replace export to ".obj" with export to ".sm" for saving tangents, calculated in editor, for Space Engine. This will solve the problem.

Are you going to add the option of .sm and also keep .obj, or will you be using .sm only in the next version? Personally, I would like to have both; .sm for SE, but still keep .obj for use in other programs smile

I'm afraid, two different exports might confuse users.

Had quite a bit of fun with this, although I've not got round to trying to export it to SE yet. Decided to call this the Odyssey Class, because all ships deserve some kind of name smile Link to the .json file here

Haha I wasn't thinking about it from a technical perspective to be honest, I was drawing inspiration from Babylon five to be honest.

It's... The Triangle:

The JSON is attached, too (attribution please!). Maybe I will try a simpler design next.

This massive machine of metal is almost symmetrical on the main axis (the front = the back).

My only problem with the camera is that I wish I could hold down a key to pan. When I hold the middle mouse button on my mouse, it accidentally scrolls very easily, and it's kind of annoying.

EDIT: SHW: If you're reading this, thanks for the amazing program!!! Now, my suggestion: When saving files, it always reverts back to some random place in the appdata folder. If there's a way to (at least in the Windows version) create a default save location, or to have the program remember the last known directory opened, it would save so much time, especially when you just want to save your work and quickly get back to it.
