While I consider the $60 well spent (so far 70 hours played), I'm not sure this is a $60 game yet. Hopefully future mods and updates will flesh it out much better.

future mods

I've played GTA San Andreas for thousands of hours, and I'm still playing it even if it was released 10 years ago and I also have GTA 5.

Why? Because of mods! (recently I'm being addicted, again, to this one)
So I'm pretty sure NMS should focus on being mod-friendly, that the only way to keep the interest in the game, otherwise I'm afraid it will be a dead game within the next 6 or 8 months.

P.S.: I hope Valve will low the price during Christmas/Black Friday sales happy

Valve doesn't set prices during sales, developers can choose to opt in and can choose how cheap they want their game to be.

Funny I still love screwing around on GTA V as well. I did notice now on NMS that Steam put up a refund disclaimer notice right there as the first thing you see after the video. Guess so many people are trying to get refunds now. Funniest review I saw had the yellow "this product was free for the review" and the poster just stated "I over paid".

People are saying after a few planets, everything looks the same, which is quite the contrast for SE as I can spent close to an hour just on one planet looking around and seeing the details from different perspectives...

After watching this, I'm probably not going to play NMS no matter the price drop.:

I know that NMS is not about scientific realism but this is too unbearable for me..

n0b0dy, what's hilarious is that Murray trash-talked other games about having skyboxes and tried to give the impression that NMS is revolutionary for not having skyboxes, when in reality it just turned out to be yet another false claim. The people that say that SM didn't lie, it's just that "things change during development", this is proof of the contrary. This is something that is ingrained in the engine itself and was likely the way it is from the very beginning of development, yet SM still claimed otherwise.

DeathStar, even SE uses a skybox, but unlike NMS and other games the Skybox is secondary and only in place to save resources.

Considering their focus was PS4, it makes no sense why they couldn't do those things. The hardware specs for the PS4 are known and worse PCs than that can run a program like SE.

Any attempt to recreate universe at that scale would be hopeless. It's just so repeatable, that it quickly becames hollow. Game has to have really enjoyable mechanics (or any sort of challenge for a player), NMS failed at it. It wasn't a world, it was not an engine - it was serious lack of any content which killed NMS. That's why I am slightly concerned about SE moving into a game, or heading in that direction. It's just huge obstacle to deal with, and huge risk.

SE can easily become a hard SF version of EVE or Elite: Dangerous from here, where you either run your own little colony network, trade, or map and study the cosmos. Or it can be KSP on steroids.

As for me? Got hyped, pre-ordered, regretted it.
Wouldn't play, tried refund, money well wasted.
Got Stellaris instead, picked up Niven, haven't looked back cool

Careful. The PLATT Collective has spurs.

Joey_Penguin, Stellaris is great. I bought that game when it came out, have quite a few hours logged, but sadly like Civilization it takes so many hours I just can't put the time in sad

Since I bought STO in 2010. The vast majority of that time is from the first 2 months when I bought the game. Same thing applies to my TF2 time, vast majority is from idling for items.
