| The first one looks like a jellyfish! I like it with the orange color.

| Wow those nebulae look fantastic indeed (when inside of them) with the * bright removed. Though they look weird in the galaxy, like huge black blobs and stars dont seem to render infront of the nebula. Would be nice if the closest nebula sprite to the camera would disappear, they spin around when you get close to one. Perhaps those nebula would look good on a smaller scale?
Here's an image (edited a bit):

| Man, this trial-and-error method is making me crazy. This is my last attempt. Setting the dust bands to the right place is the tricky part.

| Sure, go ahead! Models.cgf goes to \data\models\nebulae Extract Textures.rar to \data\textures\nebulae Shaders.rar goes to \data\shaders . But you probably have downloaded this file already. I haven't changed it since last time.
Dont forget to backu your files and delete cache folder before using it.
Edit. Rename 1530708.cfg to Models.cfg and put it in the folder above.

| I had a dream last night that I was flying through a spiral galaxy in SpaceEngine (but it was scary for some reason) and I started passing nebulae and globular clusters and I was trying to turn them off so it wouldn't crash but I couldn't get them to turn off, then I wound up in this nebula on the far side of the galaxy, and inside I found a lone stellar-mass black hole, orbiting a tiny, glitched version of the nebula as a "barycenter" or sorts.
I haven't even used these newest nebula tweaks, and they're still invading my dreams. Thanks Rodrigo

| I have added to 0.96 some probability to the generation of nebulae without lighting, with such black dust sprites.

| That looks very nice Is it possible to have custom *additional* nebula models instead of just editing the actual ones? This nebula reminds me of the ring that forms around a black hole.

| That model could be used to simulate accretion disks or protoplanetary Herbig–Haro objects

| Of course you can make a custom model with any name, add it to nebulae models script (or make new one and add it to universe.cfg). Then add a nebula to nebulae catalog (or make new catalog) and set its "Model" parameter to your model name. All steps are very similar to adding a galaxy - look here.

| I based it on this exact picture! It's funny you posted it I was hoping to use that to simulate accretion disks in black holes and other dense bodies such as neutron stars, as well as protostelar bodies, but this thing is too big for any of this. I can make it smaller, but it never coincides with the position of the central body. Anyway, i don't know how to make this thing appear in such bodies. I just use as a planetary nebula. It looks cool though.
These are the files, if anyone is interested. Note that it will substitute one type of planetary nebula.
3760246.cfg is models.cfg
