AdamHamburglar, try deleting the cache and maybe switch to a good linux distribution (Linux Mint for example).

Only when I quit the program my screen is freezing (you still see the main menu but it wont disappear) and my MATE desktop background is gone, all windows leave their traces on the desktop... have to logoff and login.

I've seen Windows applications run in Wine mess up my desktop a few times (not with SE, though). In those cases I've worked around it by running the application within a virtual desktop. See the Wine FAQ.

Native support for Linux


Linux support is the next thing planned, when SpaceEngineer gets $25 000 in donations. I've heard of people using Wine to play SE though.

Yes, but it will still take time to port it, and there are other things that need to be done first.

Just a remark,
If you go to opensourcing your code you will get thousand of programmers to help you.
The most evident example is LINUX by itself.
Was just a remark of my own. Don't know what other people think about it.
