| Quote RockoRocks ( ) That sounds like it would imply Space Engine is a movie/book/TV series and that this is the game adaption for it (which are usually not really good)
Yeh, now that you mention it, it does seem so. I think I'll remove it from my suggestions.
PC: Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz, 8GB RAM, GTX670 2GB, Win 7 64-bit
There'll be another time...

Maybe not, but stars give you most of what you see in the engine, solar systems, galaxies, planets etc, the luminosity of a star is one of it's defining characteristics.

| Oops, forgot to put this at the top of the page again... probably will edit the OP to include it and make it sticky.
New rule: no coming up with new names unless you think it's really good, really fitting, and can defend why you chose it. If people keep listing every name that comes into their mind we'll never make any progress.

| I think Machina Universalis a lot, although it is a bit lengthy. Pioneer is also a nice fit, although it seems a bit strange on its own. Combining the two would only exacerbate both problems. Perhaps cut the former in half and then combine them?
Universalis: Pioneer
(Universalis is both the genitive and nominative singular of that word, i.e. it can mean "the universe" and "of the universe")
It still seems a little strange and generic, but I think i has a nice ring to it, as well as being short and easy to say. I think pioneering is the best way to describe SpaceEngineer's vision for this game, but it's a bit ambiguous. So, just put it after the word for what you are pioneering. Then add Latin to spruce it up a bit.
That solves every problem.

| Quote Omicron314 ( ) Universalis is both the genitive and nominative singular of that word, i.e. it can mean "the universe" and "of the universe" Well, "universalis" is an adjective meaning "universal", "common". True, this is its form in the genitive and nominative singular masculine or feminine.
The Latin cognate of English "universe" is "universum" (gen. "universi"). It's a participle turned into a noun. Literally meaning "that which has be turned around once".

| If I may, "Universallis" sounds a bit forced in attempt for a nice sounding title, to me. It's happened with me too. Out of everything presented here, some of the ideas have been overly simple (and many of those already taken and copyrighted by other programs and projects), and others, overly odd or complicated sounding, un-catchy, etc. Many of my own ideas I posted here were a bit of both extremes I admit, but lets face it - it's all part of the process to coming out with a fitting title, for the right part of the software (ie. the engine itself vs a particular game generated from it).

| They are okay, but i think your first title 'Infinitum' is the best. Also, I thought Time's End didn't fit because that would imply Space Engine is about the end of the universe

| Quote parameciumkid ( ) I like calling it Space Engine :\ We are talking about an hypothetical future game with SE Engine.
In hindsight, I think Kosmos is the best name we came up with so far.
Just imagine: "Kosmos: New Frontier", or "Kosmos: Endless Rising"
The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.
