I have a problem with the skybox export. Whenever I am close enough to a planet for it to show my latitude and longitude the clouds disappear. This only happens in 0.9.7.4, and only when using the skybox exporter. In earlier versions it is fine.

This is a graphical glitch which occurred, when I was trying to build accretion disks. It happened when I switched from FOV 45 to FOV 60. Unfortunately, I have not been able to repeat it. Could it be repeated, it should be kept. biggrin

No idea if anyone else said this, but known planets, such as earth, aren't properly showing.

However, procedural worlds are fine.

I deleted the cache folder to prevent a bug that occurred once before. Did I do something wrong?

Nevermind, I deleted the cache a second time, ran SE twice and it worked on the second run.

A bit weird.

Well, after exploring many deserts and terras, I can safely say that, starting from v. 0.9.7.4 p3, mountains, in deserts, are more frequent and higher than those on terras. Terras, in other words, are flatter than the deserts.

In version 0.9.7.x up to version 0.9.7.4 p02 this was not the case. It's a deliberate feature or a mistake?

Some pictures to show what I mean

Tipical "Terra" in 0.9.7.1

Tipical "Terra" in 0.9.7.4 patch 7

This Terra is 90% flat. Just some little hills ...

Note: atmosphere and clouds are disabled in order to show in a better way the ground.

Again.

This "Terra" in 0.9.7.4 patch 7 is awesome. It's similar to our Earth, but it's almost flat :(

The entire continent above is FLAT, just some low hills ...

Note: atmosphere and clouds are disabled in order to show in a better way the ground.

IMHO, mountains of the old version 0.9.7.1 were the best ... wink

Indeed o_O
I haven't really noticed any new differences between deserts and terras myself, but if terras are flatter now I'd say it's probably a feature - terras in general have thicker atmospheres and more severe weather, which contributes to faster erosion.

But also look at our Earth-- we have lots and lots of mountains!

Living among the stars, I find my way. I grow in strength through knowledge of the space I occupy, until I become the ruler of my own interstellar empire of sorts. Though The world was made for the day, I was made for the night, and thus, the universe itself is within my destiny.

Yes, in universe.cfg I've changed a parameter.

ProbOceania 0.50 // Oceania -> Terra probability (original is 1.0 - in 0.970 was 0.5)

In versions 0.9.6.2 and 0.9.7.0 "ProbOceania" was "0.50", so I kept the same value. wink

ProbOceania 0.50 //

So it looks to me similar, not the same, I have a few more lakes.
But this planet is nearly 2 billion years older than the earth, no wonder when the erosion has made him flat. biggrin

Jokes aside, it would be interesting to have some clarification from SpaceEngineer, if/when possible wink

I am worknig on new black holes. They now have accretion disks, and you can approach them up to the event horizon and see how Universe collapses into point above you.
Next step - add red/blue shift effects.
