Yep
Once SE has procedural cities, I'll agree with this statement

Procedural cities! That's something to look forward to! Of course, processing power? Hmm. Actually, I guess that might not...figure into it? Huh. Well, I can certainly build a computer, but obviously I don't know all the inner workings of what makes what happen. wink Anyway, I can't wait to go for a dive in the new water. And the HUD screenshots look great, too! happy

Think the video may be procedural. Is it possible to have oceans like this in SE? Rest of it looks very similar to SE.

On your video, I noticed something that could be easily implemented over water noise : there seems to be a lot of noise octaves. Whereas, on SE screenshots, noise seems to be limited to only one octave.

That water is not a simple noise, it is 2D FFT (Fourier transform) made on GPU. Pretty complex thing. I will implement it in SE of course some day. But I think you want 0.971 as fast as possible... Or you want wait another month or two? smile

Yea, maybe it should be implemented later. Maybe instead of focusing on one relatively moderate improvement over the new water rendering(which a lot of people are already amazed by) for a whole 2 months, there should be a few more gameplay updates and 0.97.1 released on Christmas or New Years. At least my thoughts.

If it was then SE wouldn't be "finished" by v1.0.

Is Space Engine completed by 1.0?
