Challenge #3

The goal of this challenge is to find the best ringed terrestrial (solid) planet in the given galaxy.

The galaxy to search in is RG 0-7-1160921-984

You must make your submission by 23:59 UTC on Friday 17 May.

Your submission must contain the location code of the planet and two screenshots of it. One screenshot must show the planet from space. The other screenshot can be from whatever perspective you like. You may only submit one planet. If you would like to change your submission after you have made it, simply edit your original post and replace the old submission with the new one.

The winner of the challenge will be chosen by popular vote. As soon as the submission period ends, the voting period will begin. The voting period will last for exactly 3 days. I will announce the winners after the end of the voting period.

All forum members are encouraged to vote on the submissions made by the participants. To cast your vote, simply make a post saying whose entry/entries you're voting for (i.e. mention the person's username). You may cast up to ten votes. You may cast more than one vote on a single entry if you wish (e.g. you can cast four votes for one and and six votes for another). Challenge participants may not vote for themselves. Challenge participants may abstain from voting if they want to (you don't have to vote).

Before you start the challenge, please verify that your universe is consistent with the one most others are using by visiting the test planet below and making sure it is the same one that is posted here. If it is not, then you might have modified your SpaceEngine galaxy models from their original state. In that case, you might want to install a separate 0.9.7.0 for doing challenges with (you can skip the planet textures and spacecraft models to keep it small).

And as always remember to post about any really extraordinary things you find while doing your challenge in an appropriate thread (such as the image dump) and mention its location and that you found it while hunting for this challenge, as you could win an award for it.

This is my submission, RS 0-7-1160921-984-226-7-1211468-3 3.
It is a frozen chocolate planet, with pink rings. There is an urban legend, that if you eat chocolate mined from this planet, your body will be turned into chocolate.

This one may look somewhat ordinary, but close up, it has detail that rivals that of Saturns rings. biggrin

Since this planet has a somewhat hazy atmosphere, I opted to go from above the cloudtops.

When you make a new post (or edit one), at the bottom is a section titled attachments, just click browse and select the image from your computer.

It'll also show a tag that is used to have the image show in the post.

Theres more info here: http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/10-444-1

Or better yet, upload them to a separate image hosting service and embed them.

I've found a ring structure that nearly resembles a gold ring of jewelry.
