So, to sum up - if it is now working fine, I don't have to worry about anything that could have been messed up in my system without my knowledge, because only log and cache are affected during startup?
Exactly. As I said earlier, SE does not touch anything outside the Space Engine directory.
Thank you for your replies, you were very helpful and informative Now I only have to check some game options in .cfg to improve performance and I can start enjoying the Universe
Hello, I'm Brazilian and I have a little problem: I'm trying to download Space Engine 0.97 since the beginning of last month but all my attempts have failed - Trying to downloading it through your site don't work; trying to downloading it tthrough Google Drive works, but the download stops from time to time thanks to some stupid error (error that stops the download completely right when it reaches a certain percentage) and dowloading it through the Yandex takes forever... this when I'm not forced to click on "Continue" to resume the damn download! PLEASE, HELP ME!!!
P.S: Sorry for my bad English, but I'm really, really rusted in this language!
EDIT: I try to use the Mirror 1, but my Opera was unable to conect to this "Wuala". And when I tried to use the adress who appears in the Mirror 1 when we put the cursor over the link, I receive a message saying they (Wuala) cannot to find the damn download! What is happening with this download links?!

I use Firefox and the link works perfectly for me. Maybe the link was temporarily down when you tried it.
Also, have you tried the torrent? If none of the direct download options work then that might be a good way to go.
If that doesn't work, you could get it quickly through Yandex by making your own Disk account and downloading it through the client. It's not ideal, but Yandex Disk is a good service and that would seem to be a good option as a last resort. But I don't know why it would be necessary, at least one of the other options should work.

Did you try restarting the program, changing the flare you have selected, turning flares off, removing the flares folder and adding it again after restarting, etc. etc.? This problem happened to me one time a long time ago and it fixed itself eventually, after I messed with a bunch of stuff, which may or may not have been what fixed it.

Turning the flares off, exiting SE and then turning them back on fixed it. Thanks.
