The machines could always turn us to a natural and renewable resource, something like in Matrix. Also the human brain is an excellent calculator, so the machines could genetically engineer our brains to be compatible with its systems and use us as an extension of it's computational network. Keeping humans is coma wouldn't require that much resources and all the waste can be converted into energy.

Makes a lot of sense. I spend most of my time envisioning the future so we differ in that respect. I pay attention to tech trends, engineering, and scientific advancements. From those I extrapolate to what could be

There really are many people that are that stupid.

At least ¼ of Americans would incorrectly answer some of those questions, I guarantee you. There are an exceptional number of ignorant people in my country. As far as correctly placing countries on the map, I think at least ¾ of Americans would fail to locate Iran on an unlabeled (or in this case mislabeled) world map. 20% of Americans can not even locate the United States on a world map, something that would surprise me for any developed country.
We've probably all seen this a hundred times, but it still astonishes me that my country can view people like this as role models:

I remember a documentary on USA where I saw a father and his two kids in a museum with dinosaures, he was saying to his kids : "you see, men have kill a lot of these monsters, and after that , knights have hunted dragons" and he was serious. I can't remember what kind of comunity/religion he was into..

But surely everyone should be able to locate USA from a bloody map! Almost everyone in the developed world can, and some of the people in the developing countries as well.

It's not only sad, it's inhuman. Curiosity is the force that has driven the development of civilizations for thousands of years. Every human is curious about their environment from birth. It's natural.
This sort of disregard for knowledge in a culture seems so wrong, that it almost makes me feel that it's intentional. The Man doesn't want you to educate yourself, but stay as a mindless drone that is easy to manipulate.
