| I can't think of the last Discovery, Nat Geo, etc. documentary that I really liked. The only good documentaries made in the USA these days come from Nova.

| Documentaries these days tend to have 5 minutes of content stretched to a 60 minutes show. US documentaries the far worst. BBC used to be good, but now do the same thing. It's just repetition, constant rewinds to the start every time something new is added, so the pace of the program goes to a halt really.
This was a general remark. I only got 5 seconds into this documentary. A dramatic voice saying "the Earth is doomed" with silly graphics was enough for me.
The most recent documentary I watched was Orbit: Earth's Extraordinary Journey from BBC. I had to fast forward much of it to bear it (I hardly ever watch programmes live).

| Its pretty funny that the most entertaining documentaries seem to come from the Top Gear specials. Their middle east Christmas and India Specials were kinda cool because it brought back memories of some of my travels to the areas.

| I presume everyone's seen the BBC Planet Earth series, but it was such an amazing bit of film-making that I want to mention it anyway. :P
Also, anything with David Attenborough.

| Yes, the (older) BBC and Attenborough documentaries are good, but there's one thing I dislike about wildlife documentaries, and the BBC is sure guilty of it as well, is that much footage is obviously staged or out of context.
Documentaries that I intensely dislike are those with CGI dinosaurs detailing their behaviour, sounds, etc, as if it was an animal alive today. Which is 99% fiction, and perhaps not very believable either.

| A pretty nice 3-hour movie debunking many of the claims from the show "Ancient Aliens", though it starts introducing its own iffy things during the last 20 minutes, with the narrator apparently suddenly trying to convince you that some stories from the Bible - such as accounts of nephilim and the Flood - are true, which is irrelevant to the rest of the movie. Still, not a bad way to spend 3 hours.

This looks great! I'm watching it now.
I wonder how much blood the Earth has... they said something about reaching the "beating heart" of the Earth... seriously though, just the opening graphics, over the city, rushing past the airliner and the buildings and straight through the crust... they did a good job with all of it.
