| Just had the windows tinted for UV and glare, which makes a tremendous difference for the sunlight reflecting off the water.

| I'm envious, Antza, and nice horizon, Watsis (chop those pines?). I haven't seen the sun (or stars or UV or glare) for three weeks. Cloudy, foggy, cloudy, cloudy, week after week... I'm getting worried that another dark season will be mostly lost.

Nooo, I love those pines. =( (Also, they're not on my property, but the people one level below me.) I did remove a bunch of maples on my land though, both for the view and because they have a tendency to drop big limbs in windstorms.
Weather-wise, my Autumn is probably similar to yours. We had an unusually sunny Summer (which are usually very sunny to begin with) with several weeks on end of clear skies. But late autumn and early winter is the opposite, with lots of rain and rarely ever seeing Sun or stars. Seeing the storms blow in over the islands can be neat, though. And all of my water comes from roof-top rain collection, so I can't complain too much. 
I, too, am envious of Antza's polar views. I can't imagine stepping outside my house and seeing the aurora -- how awesome is that?

| I've glimpsed some aurora a couple of times this Autumn, before the weather pattern got stuck into clouds, but 60N in Europe is too far south for the best shows. I've recorded > 90% cloud cover so far in November, which is frustrating. Today the cloud base is at least well above my house.
Aurorae are best as rare events. It's light pollution.

Same in Sweden, haven't seen the sun for about two weeks. Very depressing, especially when the days are so short.
