Added (31.05.2013, 13:36) --------------------------------------------- Heat records in Norway shattered: 29.5C yesterday at the Norwegian-Russian border in Pasvikdalen. Not bad at above 69N in May. That's 2.5C above the previous May record in Finnmark county (measurements go back deep into the 19th century). It's a new station, though.

| There's got to be a way to get SE on the radar- it's got to be featured on some really popular website or something.
Also the forums can be lonely, we need more humans to assimilate into the gigantic cube universe that is Space Engine

| Well, then here I am, out of nowhere, from lengthy absolute silence! I'm so sorry I haven't been on the forums, I've had a lot of family stuff go on. Anyway, Werdna, It appears you got your wish and about the heat thing: Where I am it's 90 degrees F! It's supposed to be 55 degrees F! INDUSTRY I BLAME YOU!
Quote (Salvo) Eludideon or however you spell it thing SE needs to have this.
I'm back, but am I here to stay? Hopefully!

| Quote (Spyro) Where I am it's 90 degrees F! It's supposed to be 55 degrees F! It was 90 degrees yesterday where I was... so what?
On Thursday it was 5682 degrees F, and on Wednesday it was 7.835045692... * 10^91 degrees F. At this rate the heat death of the universe will occur in a couple of days. This, my northern European and Russian friends, is what it's like to live in a real temperate zone. One day, it's hot enough to unify the fundamental forces, and the next day it's absolute zero.*
*I'm exaggerating
Quote (Spyro) INDUSTRY I BLAME YOU! There are lots of industries- specificity is needed

Euclideon Yes. Yes it does.
EDIT: Anything is possible: Have you guys ever seen, well, something like this? (Caution, Crysis is an m rated game, and watching it will make you want to mindlessly murder people, except that's a total lie, but be warned that this video contains low-frames-per-second violence)

I beat more than half of Crysis on a 64mb integrated laptop card.

| I beat Crysis using pure thought, no fancy machines required. I also managed to avoid the scarier parts of the game this way.

That the core clock was only 425.
And it had no measured shader clock.

It was rated ARRRR Nobody has ever heard this joke or a variant of it. Ever. Not once in the entire history of human civilization
Quote (HarbingerDawn) I beat Crysis using pure thought, no fancy machines required. I also managed to avoid the scarier parts of the game this way. Sounds like cheating to me
I first played through Crysis on a 13" MacBook Pro. It had a 2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo P8700 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a Nvidia 9400M with 256MB of VRAM. My current machines are much better at handling it.
EDIT: Sorry for this late reply:

The only animals I have home is a couple of shrimp in a Ecosphere, a completely closed aquarium , I have it since 4 years, no need to upkeep or feed them, the ecosystem work perfectly. Kinda philosophical, a world apart, but with the same sun.

| Quote (werdnaforever) There are lots of industries- specificity is needed ALL industries. BTW, The Earth's pollution rate just hit 400 ppm in CO2, great job people! Together we can create even more droughts, floods, superstorms and forest fires! Together, just by leaving our cars on, together we can kill all traces of life in the span of 300 years! Together we can turn a paradise planet into a trash heap! TOGETHER WE CAN RUIN OUR LIVES WITH POLLUTION!
I'm back, but am I here to stay? Hopefully!

| Quote (Spyro) ALL industries ...the music industry? The space industry? The solar power industry? The bicycle industry?
Quote (Spyro) The Earth's pollution rate just hit 400 ppm in CO2 First of all, this is old news, it's actually posted in this thread somewhere. Second, that's not a "rate", it's an absolute concentration of carbon dioxide relative to the other gases in the atmosphere. It says nothing about rate.
Quote (Spyro) we can kill all traces of life in the span of 300 years! Incorrect. There is virtually nothing that humanity can do to kill all life on Earth, nor is that (or even a devastating extinction event) a realistic consequence of anthropogenic climate change.
Quote (Spyro) Together we can turn a paradise planet into a trash heap! Carbon dioxide and trash are in virtually every way unrelated.
