| Everyone likes to say great things about Steve Jobs; about how he was such a visionary, or about the "innovation" he ushered in. "What about the iPhone? Or all the other accomplishments of Apple?" you ask. Well, iPhones are outdated every year. Macs are easily damaged and tarnished. Apple overcharges for everything they sell.
Steve Jobs was an excellent business man. He's given way too much credit for Apple's technological success. There were numerous other people who worked on these products and ideas. Steve found a way to sell them, and to make you want them.
Sure, Bill Gates was a good business man, but... Bill Gates has given nearly half his fortune away- almost 30 billion, for good causes, and has encouraged others to do so too. I don't think overpriced iPads are doing much good for the billions of starving people out there (or for the workers making them who will never afford one). Also, Microsoft had a huge impact on the spread of personal computing itself- a major accomplishment.
So, here's this:

| Quote (werdnaforever) Bill Gates has given nearly half his fortune away- almost 30 billion, for good causes, and has encouraged others to do so too. Hm. I pay more than 50% of my income in taxes, does it mean that I'm more generous than Bill Gates?
Tax is supposed to be for good causes. The trouble here in Norway is that the bureaucracy and number of people on governmental payslip is increasing so fast that it's on the brink of detaching itself from society. They are becoming so busy keeping eachother occupied that they can no longer offer public services. The number of new jobs "created" are so many that I wonder if we have passed the turning point.

| So apparently DeviantArt decided that it would be a lot of fun to change the URLs on all their images. So now all my images that I've posted on this site are messed up and I need to manually change the URLs. I am not amused. If you find a post of mine that looks like it should have pictures but doesn't, that's why.
