Jarlsberg or milder.
But for breakfast it's always Swedish knäckebröd with Norwegian geitost these days. Things that don't get mouldy and can be made and eaten in a minute.

| As some of you may have heard there's a powerful winter storm moving into New England, possibly one of the biggest ever, and it looks something like this:
and will yield as much snow as this:
To get cm, multiply by 2.54. The estimates have increased since this map was made, so that means up to a meter of snow is possible in many areas. All road traffic has been banned. Massive power outages and coastal flooding are likely, and power will probably be off for a few days at least for those who lose it. So if I go offline for a while, that is why.

| I miss a big snow event. So far the winter has been pretty dry and cold. Just a few snowfalls leaving up to 20cm in a day. Boring. My automatic snow depth sensor currently reports 54 cm which is ok for skiing, but somewhat modest for February here.
Here's me in 2006 struggling to find a place for the snow. Not much to see through the window in the first floor, and the pile began blocking the view of the window one floor up:
I don't want it like that every winter, but not too many years apart either.

Yep. Experiencing that right now, but we're having a lot more than 1 foot. I think the power is going out pretty soon...

Yeah. Green Cristmases are the worst.
Sorry I haven't been replying much, I'm working on something big with my little brother. Also, there's school. 
At least I had a snow day!

| Isn't it peculiar that your power grid is so vulnerable to a bit of snow? Where's the quality? Below you see a buildup of ice around some power lines grown to a diameter of 1.5 meters (this is what happens if you have a lot of fog and wind for weeks and months). That's more than 300 kg per meter of wire. But it's still standing

| A bit of snow, a bit of rain, a hot and muggy day, a slight breeze... our grid is so flimsy I'm impressed the whole thing doesn't fail just from a squirrel running down the lines. 
Amazing photo by the way. It doesn't even seem possible that they could support that much weight!
