I don't even know.

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

You added another zero, and misplaced the comma, and didn't notice that the continually quoted 18k figure was wrong?

It's absolutely possible to build a $18k computer (with attached deviced) from mass markets parts. The question is, unless you have very specific needs, what justifies the price? I have used computers for well over 30 years, and I've surely spent more than $18k on computers over all those years (perhaps twice that). If I had spent all those money in the 80's (assunimg that I would have them), my computer specs would be extremely underwhelming today. The best computer investment one can ever make is a couple of years of patience. To lag state of the bleeding edge by a couple of years.

Car enthusiasts could easily spend $18k on stuff that doesn't really serve any practical purpose, so in that perspective why not computers as well. It's not my business, but I don't really understand it unless $18k is pocket chance.

Of course it is, I never disputed that. I did say however that there was no useful reason to spend more than several thousand, and that the idea that the computer cost that much was highly implausible. And it seems that I was right and it was an inaccurate figure.

No offense, but if 18k is true, you broke Kirk Lazarus' biggest rule.

The real reason payphones are disappearing is because [automatic_data_censor_protocol_00000x0000x0x0000x404] . That way, there will be no way to overthrow the new world order when they [automatic_data_censor_protocol_00000x0000x0x0000x405] . I should be careful posting all this- they already have methods of censorship beyond our control.

When we die, there is no heaven or hell, only the Main Menu.

It would be great if that were true, though I'd be a little irked about not knowing that from the beginning.

I just got my new eyeglasses! biggrin

I broke my old ones a while ago, and I had to go four days without glasses. I couldn't see anything.
