O_O Okay, I'm ready to migrate to Northern Scandinavia!

The aurora was visible from around Oslo as well, but only barely visible. St. Petersburg lies at the same latitude, so it was likely visible there as well.

I'm saving up for a iOptron SkyTracer, which is similar but already has a polar scope and a adjustable base, so it's more affordable.

Watched the Minotaur I launch from Wallops island earlier tonight, delivering 28 CubeSats into orbit. From my location I was looking almost straight down the orbital path, so during the upper stages it seemed to just hang there. Really neat.

Took five 30s exposures and combined:

A couple of shooting stars this morning. Nothing spectacular. Probably sporadic.

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

(still don't know why everyone is doing this...)

It was last week, (barely). Now it is too close to the sun to be visible, with perihelion on the 28th. If it survives perihelion maybe it will be visible again in early December.

I live in a small town. I drive a few kilometers to the countryside to take pictures.
