| Wow, that's beautiful, especially for being on an unprocessed film roll from a destroyed spacecraft.
I remember that I was watching CNN live when this happened. I had never watched a shuttle land on live TV before so I was especially excited. It was really sad when it never came home. Farewell, crew of STS-107.

| Wow, that last one of Orion is amazing, I didn't know anyone had gotten any astrophotos of that quality from ISS.
And the Flame Nebula and even faintly the Horsehead Nebula are visible! Amazing!

| Impressive, indeed! Must have been difficult to achieve such clarity given the speed the station orbits -- stars cross the 'sky' much more quickly. I wonder if the faint red band is a higher-altitude variety of airglow; probably where the usual aurora are.
The first image is great, too. Amazing how squashed the sun looks.

The upper layers of auroras are faintly red, because the more a solar wind particle is stopped high, the less energy it have, so the emited spectrum is low. And as red is the the less energetic color of the visible spectrum, auroras are under "a kind of red cloud".
