I know you just said there is nothing about ships in this version update but pleeease please add an ability to rotate the camera around your ship with a joystick/thumbstick.

Playing the game where your camera is tracking the ship instead of having the camera attached to the actual ship (which causes see-saw issues) makes flying the ships enjoyable but you have to constantly adjust the camera with the mouse which is not very good when using a gamepad.

Keep up the good work and thank you for this program that is the best out there.

SE already have this. Bind some gamepad button to "Orbit by jouystick". This is analogue of the right-button mouse click. While holding it, rotation keys changes camera position around the selected object (ship).

I'm curious how you use ship's control panel with gamepad. I haven't designed interface for this yet.

Nice!

Would it be possible to let the mouse cursor / crosshairs dissappear after a few seconds of inactivity? Most of the times, I start SE and just let it simulate in realtime, enjoying the view, and the cursor distracts a bit then.

You can't, unless you are one member of the closed testing group on Steam.

Awesome! I basically use the joystick almost everytime I use SpaceEngine, but everytime I do so I have to re-configure all the key bindings, does this fixes this problem? smile

(I'm using xBox One controller)

I should have said: make it an option (although I would think this was obvious)

It is an option, jam your FOV down so everything looks bigger, then hit G twice to go fast. Space engine is not NMS, everything doesn't need to be crammed together and making an option to do so would require SE to generate two universes. The sci-fi one and the real one, which seems like a ton of work for SE since he'd need to keep updating both.

That's not the same thing. While one would be able to see the planets, it would only be if you know where they are already, it would be impossible to find them in the first. And the planets would disappear immediately if time is not paused (or slowed enough) or if the planet is not tracked. And doing so would go against the goal of the lazy/peaceful/quiet feel I'm aiming for with this proposal.

Why a ton of work? SE already does this with system chart (and more since the planets are also sorted and aligned).

And the excuse for the "sci-fi universe" could be the universe map. A fully 3D, navigable map, so accurate that you can even "land" on the planets. A google map for the universe with integrated 3D streetview of whole planets if you will.

Thank you. I will try this fix today. ::Edit:: It doesn't work unfortunately.

What do you mean ship's control panel? I don't have buttons for the individual things like "keep horizontal" or anything, I just mapped my xbox controller to the controls in the option menu and it all works.

I will try and make a video sometime of how I try to fly in game.
