| Quote steeljaw354 ( ) Can you add your own music? Does it have to be a specific file type? Check /data/music and context.cfg It seems that ogg is the only supported format (tried mp3 and flac - doesn't work).

| Quote Nahor ( ) - Scaled objects in star systems. Make the planets/start bigger, or reduce the size of the orbits. It's probably not something you want to do if you really want to keep the app as a real simulation but it goes well with a lazy nagiation, to more easily jump from one planet to another. Today, one has to either use the maps or show the orbits to find the next planet. This breaks the mood cool
Veto!
Can't disagree with you here more. What you're describing robs Space Engine of its crowning achievement: A sense of the true scale of the universe. Even the auto-speed system you requested makes the distances between things less apparent.
And anyway, no! You can absolutely hop planet to planet without using maps or browsers or orbits. Just look for the lights in the sky that move against the background when you move around at interplanetary speeds. Using a controller with my own bindings (Speed +/- on the shoulder buttons), I routinely planet hop, even from a planet around one star in one galaxy to another in another galaxy - smooth as butter, with no targetting or go-to-ing or anything other than the mark I eyeball. Easily accomplished.

SpaceEngine use Ogg Vorbis format files. You may add your own music files in a folder under addons/music/, they'll be loaded by the music player. I haven't tried yet to compile a customized context file for that folder, I suspect it will work but I find it a bit tedious to do it manually. Likewise I didn't try putting them in a .pak file but it should work I guess.

I should have said: make it an option (although I would think this was obvious)
As for the sense of scale, that's just one way of enjoying Space Engine. Another way is the feelings of peace and quiet, like people do today, laying on the ground outside and looking up at the stars. Another is the sense of wonder at seeing different worlds gravitating around a sun or bigger planets. Let each person choose the way he/she wants to enjoy this application.
That said, bigger planets/smaller orbits would also give you a sense of scale: the scale of the planets relative to each other. Today you can't normally have that because planets are too far away to really compare. The only way to get that is via the system chart. And my suggestion is essentially the same as this, except that the planets would still have an orbit instead of being all nicely aligned and sorted by size (and Space Engineer already suggested the option to keep the natural order).
And yes you can find other planets today, I never said it was not possible. I was only suggesting a way to make it easier. I'm aiming for that "peace and quiet" feel. If I have to fight with the controls by accelerating/slowing/reversing time and speed back and forth, that sense of peace is gone. I'd just like to have a very simple way of exploring, requiring minimal cognitive exercise.

| I know you just said there is nothing about ships in this version update but pleeease please add an ability to rotate the camera around your ship with a joystick/thumbstick.
Playing the game where your camera is tracking the ship instead of having the camera attached to the actual ship (which causes see-saw issues) makes flying the ships enjoyable but you have to constantly adjust the camera with the mouse which is not very good when using a gamepad.
Keep up the good work and thank you for this program that is the best out there.

I'd like to know if we can contribute music for a release or an official music add-on pack.

| I think music proposed should be freely available or under some version of Creative Commons license, in order to avoid licensing issues, but a community addon could be a nice touch. How to choose among a stellar amount of proposals, though? Oh, well...

For my part, I'd contribute music I've written myself & would provide nowhere else. If I am able to, I'd convince Super Fata to as well.
