Those "idiots" you claim attacked you merely pointed out that asking when the next update is coming out is frowned upon, and you proceeded to go on and condescendingly dismiss them as "angry 10 year olds", telling them to "calm down"(despite you being far less calm in your responses, ironically) and now calling them "idiots", all while repeatedly blatantly breaking the forum rules by using censored swear words - all of this actually says A LOT more about your maturity than it does about theirs.

Anyways, this really isn't the place for the discussion to devolve into petty feuds, so continue arguing at your own peril - just don't be surprised if the moderators step in eventually.

I agree. Parameciumkid was simply explaining how you are being impatient. Yet, you start being immature, breaking the forum rules and attempting to start an argument like that. Paramecium even said that he was no longer angry, and then your still 'arguing' with him. Which makes it seem like you are the actual 10 year old here.

Also, you may keep hating if you wish, but don't expect a big reaction from us.

Bem, eu tentei.

And this is the end of the attempt of intervening in Portuguese. It seems it wasn't successeful. Pity.

Spaceengineer, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I remember you said once you don't have time to derive spherical mirror projection equations, so I would like to help you. Can you tell me which projection you want to transform from? Also if anyone has spherical mirror setup available it would speed up the process without me having to bother SpaceEngineer too much smile

Is there going to be an atmospheric filter, so you can filter results furthere by atmospheric composition?

It will be cool if the volumetric technology was used in the planets rings too, is one of the most important updates since I know Space Engine

That would not be realistic, as planetary rings consist of small rocks, with a size from one metre to one kilometre.

Love SpaceEngine!

I redrawing the font texture, made it 2 times bigger (greater resolution, 512*512 instead of old 256*256). This is required for the main menu buttons:

So now the main menu texture (unique for each language) is no more needed. SpaceEngine logo is now a separate texture file and can be replaced in the skin config file. Main menu buttons are part of the interface texture.

Also, the new hi-res font now can be used for large text in wiki or on-screen messages:

But it also can replace the default font quite well, by simple scaling down! Here is a examples of different scale levels: 0.5, 0.6, 0.7:

So what do you think? Keep the old font (which have some problems like redundant pixels artefacts), or use the new one? It's thickness can be changed, because I saved the texture "source code" (vector-based image).

Downscaling looks surprisingly good (unlike upscaling, which blurs characters), so it is possible to scale up interface text up to 1:1 match with texture (32*32 characters, roughly 2 times bigger than now). This is can be used to scale up the GUI for 4K displays.

PS: yes, in-game tutorials are coming soon!

Not quite true, this. Depends on the rings, how they form and where they are. Saturn's E ring, for instance (the one fed by Enceladus' jets), consists almost entirely of submilimeter particles of ice and silicates. The dusty inner ring of Jupiter is also composed mostly of very small particles. Rings' composition, in general, and simplifying a lot, depends on how does watever mechanism that keeps them going balance out the effects of magnetic fields and star winds. So OMGspace_engine's idea could make sense, at least in some circumstances.

main menu buttons

I usually prefer minimalism, but it's nice!

For what concerns the fonts I really like the new one, I think it's the best, but the old one is much easier to read. I don't know... I couldn't decide. wacko

I wonder if increasing the thickness will make it slightly easier to read.

Probably it is better to introduce something new, but in fact it requires more changes in design, right? I hope if you improve that, other corrections in design will follow - these buttons right there are sticking out too much. I like the old design.

Yeah and, basically, the previous font was easier to read, I recommend you to stick to some improved version of it.
It is Futura, right? I think it is better to stick to Helvetica or some other grotesque font.

I suggest using the Titillium font. It's very readable and has a modern feel that I think fits with space, science and science-fiction. It also has a complete font family and is completely free. I also use it when I do something for science-fiction art so that's why I thought of it.

Here's a link:
